I'm part of the generation that used a few characters to express
emotions during its teenage years :) These character combos have
become less common as the new generation of colorful emojis took over.
Our homemade emojis gave us room to experiment, with the keyboard as
our only limitation (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ. Feeling nostalgic, I wanted to revive
these tiny characters by designing an emoji-friendly font.
Typeface
This font is an experiment aimed at merging new forms from character
combinations. Even better if the font isn't seen as just a set of
letters.
An alternative version, when split, builds new shapes
The vertical alignment between uppercase and lowercase creates an coherence of composition.
